FAQ’s

At Wood-Sage Outdoor Education, we've done our best to create a Web site that anticipates and satisfies our customers' needs. Q.What if the weather is bad?

Don’t worry ...the event will go on anyway! We like to see this as all part of the outdoor experience and Wood-Sage continues to operate in all weathers. Please dress for the conditions! In the exceptional circumstance of a severe weather event, such as high wind or extreme cold, it may be necessary to offer an alternative activity or venue or even postpone to another date. This happens very rarely.

When I arrive at Wood-Sage, what happens to my vehicle?

All vehicles must be left on the car park adjacent to the main entrance. Under no circumstances are guests allowed to drive on the fields.

Is there anywhere to buy refresments on site?

Yes, Bods will be open to buy hot and cold drinks, sweets, crisps and a range of snacks.

Disabled parking?

Limited numbers of disabled parking bays can be found at various locations on site, enabling easier access to our activities

What about insurance?

Wood-Sage hold the relevant insurance to carry out all our activities. Details are available upon request.

Staffing levels?

The level of supervision on activity sessions is appropriate to the nature of the activity taking place. For most activity sessions the Activity Instructor takes charge of an activity group, with between 9 and 15 children, without assistance from other Wood-Sage staff. However, for certain activity sessions such as the Zip Line, a second, appropriately experienced, member of the Team is timetabled to work with the Activity Instructor.

Although Activity Instructors run a lot of sessions on their own, we do activity session observations on a frequent basis, to aid staff development and to look to improve standards wherever we can. Additional to all the Wood-Sage staff there are of course the teachers and other adults who accompany children on a trip to our Activity Centre.

What age can Wood-Sage provide activities for?

Generally the activities are suitable for age 6 upwards. We find that children younger than 6 do not have the motor skills required with the upper limit depending on how physically fit and willing the person is.

Our activities are adaptable to all ages however and we have worked with customers aged 3 years to 80+ years young.

How do I pay?

We ask for a 25% deposit to secure the booking.  This can be done via online banking or you can post a cheque. The balance is then required 14 days prior to the day of the activity.

How do I book?

Please send an email to Bookings@wood-sage.co.uk with all your details and requirements.  We can then send through a quote and confirmation on availability.  If you wish to go ahead, we ask that you confirm via email and then we will email a booking confirmation with T&Cs, a medical form, participation statement and an invoice.

Do I need special clothing or equipment?

Wood-Sage will provide all the specialist Personal Protective Equipment for the activity such as helmets, harnesses and eye protection. Just don't wear your best gear and be prepared to get mucky. It's all part of the fun.

What about first aid and anyone having an accident?

All Wood-Sage staff are trained and qualified in first aid, with a full comprehensive first aid kit on site. Risk assessments and emergency procedures are in place for any eventuality.
