‘Forest School is an inspirational process that offers ALL learners regular opportunities to achieve and develop confidence and self-esteem through hands-on learning experiences in a woodland or natural environment with trees’. (Forest School Association)
At Wood-Sage Outdoor Education through our Forest School sessions, and small group interventions, we hope to encourage independent, enthusiastic and creative learners who develop holistically through a well-planned and interesting learner-centred approach.
The Forest School Principles and how they link to our setting:
We will use a range of learner centred processes to create a community for development and learning.
Sessions are typically 2 hours long and they will be led by Simon Moorhouse, who is a qualified teacher, has a current Enhanced DBS (formerly CRB) and undergone his Level 3 Forest School Practitioner training. They will take place at Wood-Sage Outdoor Education’s activity centre in Great Harwood, or at your venue if you have a suitable space.
