Frequently Asked Questions
What if the weather is bad?
Don’t worry…the event will go on anyway! We have a field shelter that means once you are on site, you will be out of the weather anyway.
We like to see this as all part of the outdoor experience and Wood-Sage continues to operate in all weathers. Please dress for the conditions!
Bookings where we are prepared to run the session, will not be eligible for re-scheduling. In these circumstances, a customer’s decision not to take part it is deemed that the booking has been cancelled and charges as stated will apply. Refunds are not applicable.
In the exceptional circumstance of a severe weather event, such as high wind or extreme cold, (or any other unavoidable circumstances) it may be necessary to offer an alternative activity or venue or even postpone to another date. This happens very rarely.
Do I need to book in advance?
Yes. We may be able to fit you in if you don’t have a booking, but this is unlikely.
Please book in advance to avoid disappointment.
Both our senior instructors are teachers and so we only operate during weekends and school holidays.
When I arrive at Wood-Sage, what happens to my vehicle?
All vehicles can be left in the yard outside of Meadow Mill, which is literally a 100m away from our Meadow.
If you have a 4×4, you are welcome to drive right up to our gate at your own risk.
Is there anywhere to buy refreshments on site?
No, but there are several supermarkets close by with cafes.
How do I book and pay?
Please send an email to Simon@wood-sage.co.uk, or use the “Contact Us” below, with all your details and requirements. We can then send through a quote and confirmation on availability.
We ask for a £50 deposit to secure the booking. This can be done via online banking, using your name and date of activities as your payment reference. The remaining balance is then required on the day of the activity.
Arrival Times
Please be at our designated meeting spot 10 minutes prior to a designated ‘start-time’ to enable sign-in and a full safety briefing to take place, unless advised otherwise on your booking confirmation.
The time stated on your booking confirmation is the start time not arrival time.
No participant may take part in any activity without first signing in and attending a safety briefing.
The booking will normally be treated as a cancellation in the event of late arrival with the loss of all monies and you will be turned away.
Please take arrival times seriously allowing for any possible delays on route to the venue.
What about first aid and anyone having an accident?
All Wood-Sage staff are trained and qualified in first aid, with a full comprehensive first aid kit on site. Risk assessments and emergency procedures are in place for any eventuality…however we have never needed to test these procedures as we have an excellent safety record.
Do I need any special clothing or equipment?
Wood-Sage will provide all the specialist Personal Protective Equipment for the activity such as eye protection. Just don’t wear your best gear and be prepared to get mucky. It’s all part of the fun!
Please tie long hair back and wear proper shoes…no open toes or flip flops in case you drop something!
